CHOA LEARNS: ENERGY CHANGEMAKERS – A Microfluidics-based Approach to Optimizing Heavy Oil Recovery
March 21 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am$55.00 – $75.00
Welcome to CHOA LEARNS: Energy Changemakers!
This year-long series of short, interactive talks will feature scientists and leaders who are shaping the future of Canadian energy. Talks will present unique insight gained on the leading edge of energy innovation.
We will kick off this series on February 16th with discussion of new (and previously overlooked) opportunities for geothermal energy. Upcoming topics will include CCUS, solvent innovation, and more. Participants will directly shape this series by choosing future topics to explore.
All talks will also include dedicated time to network and learn from each other.
Let’s get together for breakfast and learn something new!
Following the SOLD OUT event on February 16th,
CHOA LEARNS: ENERGY CHANGEMAKERS presents:
A Microfluidics-based Approach to Optimizing Heavy Oil Recovery
Presentation by Stuart Kinnear, CEO and Co-founder, Interface Fluidics
Interface Fluidics will present their collaboration with two Canadian heavy oil producers on microfluidics-based optimization for heavy oil recovery. They will detail how microfluidics can optimize chemical spend and increase oil recovery, drawing on their experience in Alberta and Saskatchewan’s heavy oil fields. Additionally, the presentation will touch upon Interface Fluidics’ work with SAGD operators to streamline the optimization of steam injection additives and measure solvent retention in the reservoir.
Stuart provides leadership developing and managing Interface’s strategic initiatives. He is passionate about leveraging information and data to increase efficiencies in oil production. With over a decade leading teams in the oil and gas industry, Stuart brings an extensive background in business intelligence, supply management, and contract negotiations. He holds a Masters of Business Administration, with a specialization in International Business, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from the University of Victoria.
